M’sian buys new car, within an hour gets submerged in Puchong flash flood

A Malaysian couple’s joy over the purchase of their new car was short-lived after it was engulfed in a flash flood in Puchong on Saturday (Dec 16).

Azhahul Azri took to his Facebook account to explain about the unfortunate incident.

“My brother who was the car salesperson had delivered the vehicle to the customer at 5pm. And by 6pm, the customer’s brand new car was submerged due to the floods.

“Thankfully my brother got to persuade the customer who is his friend to add the special perils insurance. One second the weather was all sunny when they entered the mall and then, after a meal and prayers, they came out and discovered their car had been submerged.

“The car only left the showroom an hour ago.”

He added that flash floods are risks that people can’t control and that even RM10,000 wouldn’t be sufficient to restore the vehicle.

Many netizens expressed their sadness and also shared the importance of getting the special perils insurance.

“Others need to remember to take natural disasters coverage, especially since Malaysia’s weather can be rather unpredictable. Be a smart user,” commented a netizen.
