A Malaysian woman has expressed frustration on Threads over criticism faced by some MySARA recipients for using the aid to buy frozen food.
“Let it be. I’m single, my salary is 100% for myself and my cats, and even I don’t buy frozen food because it’s expensive.
“Getting SARA, even RM100, feels like getting gold, you know,” she wrote.
She went on to tell critics to mind their own business, adding humorously, “If you don’t like it, then don’t eat it. Later your lips might get ulcers.”

The post drew supportive reactions from fellow Malaysians:
“Yes… Ayamas is RM25 per packet now, so it’s a pity to buy it with your own salary. Better to use the SARA aid, right?”

All 22 million Malaysians aged 18 and above have received RM100 credited to their MyKad accounts.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the aid can be used to purchase essential items at over 10,000 retail outlets and supermarkets nationwide.
