M’sian netizen calls out Myvi’s flashing lights, sparks epilepsy safety concerns

In the video, the black-coloured Myvi could be seen with the backlights flashing non-stop, drawing attention from other drivers.

A Malaysian netizen has called out a Perodua Myvi spotted on the road for its bright flashing lights.

In the video, the black-coloured Myvi could be seen with the backlights flashing non-stop, drawing attention from other drivers.

“It doesn’t look impressive at all. It looks stupid. The owner must be wearing tight jeans, a shirt that fits like a newborn baby, a sling bag tucked in the middle, and a G-Shock watch bought from a night market for RM10,” commented the man.

Several netizens urged for action, warning that strobe and flashing lights can be dangerous.

One user called for the car to be reported, stating that such lights are a known trigger for seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.

“Please report. Strobe lights and flashing lights are a well-known trigger for seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.”

Others suggested using the MyJPJ app to report the vehicle, asking for details such as where and when the car was spotted.

“Just report it to MyJPJ. Take a picture, note where it was, what time, and the date, then send the report.”

Another user said the owner should be forced to undergo inspection at Puspakom, adding that the flashing lights could hurt the eyes of drivers behind them.

“Yes, honestly it’s annoying because it keeps flashing like crazy… it hurts people’s eyes, especially at night.”
