Stepfather allegedly seeks assets of terminally ill mum

M’sian shares the claim of stepfather filing for mother’s assets while she battles terminal illness.

A Malaysian recently shared a harrowing account of their mother allegedly being taken advantage of by her husband while battling a terminal illness.

Shared anonymously on X, the individual claimed to be caring for their mother, who has terminal brain cancer.

The anonymous sender also stated that the children used their mother’s money strictly for her needs and did not touch a single cent for personal use.

However, the sender later discovered that their stepfather had filed a legal notice to claim their mother’s assets.

“I am devastated. My mother is not even gone yet. I have cried for days, watching her suffer in pain and waiting for her time,” they added.

Netizens condemned the stepfather’s actions and urged the sender to quickly arrange a transfer of assets, also known as hibah, in order to protect their mother’s wealth from being claimed.

“This is so scary. Your stepfather is supposed to be taking care of your mother as well,” one user pointed out.
