KOTA KINABALU: The Communications Ministry is injecting RM17.5 million into the Creative Content Fund (DKK) to further support and strengthen the nation’s film and music industries.
Its minister Fahmi Fadzil said RM11 million has been allocated to support the film sector, while RM6.5 million is earmarked for the music industry.
“This initiative will assist filmmakers and musicians in producing content that we hope will not only tell the story of Malaysia’s rich culture, diversity and history.
“... to be showcased not only to Malaysians but also to the international community,” he told reporters after a meet and greet session with creative industry professionals from Sabah and Sarawak at the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Sabah campus here today.
Some 200 creative talents from Sabah and Sarawak participated in the session, which lasted over an hour. During the event, they discussed various perspectives, challenges and opportunities to drive growth in the film and music industries across both states.
Fahmi berkata empat kategori DKK sektor filem melalui Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS), ditawarkan melibatkan Dana Pembangunan Skrip, Dana First Time Amateur Film Maker, Dana Co-Pro Filem Cereka dan Dokumentari serta Dana Dokumentari bermula 16 Sept ini.
Bagi DKK industri muzik, beliau berkata empat kategori ditawarkan melalui Kumpulan MyCreative Ventures (MyCV) mulai 26 Julai hingga 30 Sept merangkumi Dana Muzik Malayseana (Dana Cipta Karya), Dana Irama Perpaduan (Dana Cipta Karya), Dana Gig MADANI (Dana Persembahan Muzik) dan Dana Kandungan Aneka Muzik Interaktif (KAMI).
“Dua lagi kategori DKK industri muzik iaitu Dana Permata Muzik Negara serta Dana Pemasaran dan Promosi Antarabangsa dibuka sepanjang tahun ini kepada penggiat industri yang memenuhi kriteria ditetapkan,” katanya.
Fahmi berkata DKK mampu mewujudkan industri kreatif berdaya saing untuk menghasilkan impak ekonomi yang positif, selain membangunkan modal insan kompetitif dan setanding di persada tempatan serta global.
Beliau berkata penerima akan dipilih berdasarkan merit dan kebolehlaksanaan permohonan, selain kebolehpasaran yang mampu mengembangkan ekosistem industri kreatif negara.
Permohonan DKK Sektor Filem dibuka secara dalam talian melalui pautan https://sppik.finas.my/ menerusi Sistem Pengurusan dan Pemantauan Industri Kreatif, manakala permohonan DKK Industri Muzik melalui laman sesawang www.mycreative.com.my/grants kepada penggiat industri kreatif berkelayakan.
