KUALA LUMPUR: A man was killed and a woman injured in separate incidents involving trees falling on their cars during a storm this evening.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received emergency calls between 4pm and 5.30pm about fallen trees across the city due to bad weather.
In Persiaran Dutamas, Taman Duta, a man in his 40s died after a tree fell on his vehicle.
A Health Ministry official confirmed his death at the scene.
Meanwhile, along Jalan Metro Prima in Kepong Baru, a 39-year-old woman was injured when her car was struck by a falling tree.
Firefighters were deployed to multiple affected locations for rescue and clean-up operations.
“The man, in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the location of the incident by a Health Ministry official,“ according to a department statement.
The department conducted fallen tree removal operations to ensure public area safety.
All incidents were handled swiftly with the situation brought under control.
Clean-up operations were completed promptly at all affected locations. – Bernama
