KLIA shooting suspect gets seven-day remand order

PETALING JAYA: Police have obtained a seven-day remand order against the 38-year-old suspect behind the shooting incident at the arrival terminal of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

According to New Straits Times, the remand order which ends on April 22 was obtained at the Kota Baru magistrates court this morning.

The remand order was obtained under Section 117 of Criminal Procedure Code

The suspect was arrested at a location in Kota Bharu, around 3pm yesterday. Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the arrest.

In the 1.20 am incident, the suspect fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed, with one of the shots hitting Along, who was one of her two bodyguards.

The suspect fled in a car parked at level two of Block C.

The bodyguard who was seriously injured in the shooting incident at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 was admitted to hospital, and Husain said his condition was reported to be stable.
