ASEAN foreign ministers convene in Kuala Lumpur for a special meeting to address the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR: A special meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers concerning Cambodia and Thailand commenced in the Malaysian capital today.
Convened by Malaysia as the ASEAN Chair, the session began at 12.14pm at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is chairing the gathering.
The meeting is attended by foreign ministers and senior officials from ASEAN member states and the ASEAN Secretariat.
ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Kao Kim Hourn is also present.
Key attendees include Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
This special meeting follows a decision made by the prime ministers of Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand on December 11.
