Melaka’s Chinese New Year open house set for March 3 in Klebang

The state-level celebration will be held at night on March 3 at Dataran Klebang, featuring diverse food and aiming to attract over 10,000 visitors.

ALOR GAJAH: The Melaka State Chinese New Year Open House will be held on March 3 at Dataran Klebang. The event is scheduled from 9 pm to 11 pm.

Melaka MCA chairman and Kelebang assemblyman Datuk Lim Ban Hong said the night-time slot was chosen to accommodate the Muslim community who will be observing Ramadan next month. He said this allows everyone to join the celebrations.

The open house will feature a variety of traditional dishes from the state’s diverse communities. It is expected to draw over 10,000 visitors.

The nearby Aidilfitri Bazaar will also be open, adding to the festive atmosphere. This year’s event follows last year’s open house which was held in the Kesidang constituency.

Lim noted that hosting the event will help promote Kelebang. The area is home to numerous interesting tourist destinations and local products.
