Police arrest a man with liquid syabu and seize cars and jewellery worth RM475,000 in a Bukit Minyak raid, busting a suspected drug syndicate.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police have busted a suspected drug distribution syndicate following a raid on a house in Bukit Minyak.
A 45-year-old local man was arrested at 10.20 pm yesterday based on police intelligence.
During the search, police found 130 vape cartridges containing 4,550 grammes of crystal meth liquid, valued at RM45,500.
“The drugs could be used by 300 addicts,” said Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Helmi Aris.
Intelligence reports indicated the drug distribution activities had been active in the local market for two months.
Police also seized two cars and various jewellery, including bracelets and necklaces, worth RM429,500.
The total value of the seized drugs and assets is RM475,000.
A urine test on the suspect, who has 10 previous drug and crime records, returned negative.
The man has been remanded for seven days until January 10 for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
