Selangor police chief confirms progress in Banting restaurant shooting probe but withholds details to avoid jeopardising the ongoing case.
SEPANG: Police have made progress in their investigations into the fatal shooting at a Banting fast-food restaurant earlier this month.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the development but said details could not be disclosed for fear of jeopardising the case.
He urged the public to place full confidence in the police force to resolve such incidents.
“Insya-Allah, once the investigations are concluded, we will share the information with the public,” Shazeli told reporters.
He was speaking after the handover ceremony for the KLIA district police chief here today.
The shooting occurred on Jan 4, resulting in the death of a man at the restaurant.
At the ceremony, ACP Ravi Munusamy was appointed as the new KLIA district police chief.
He replaces SAC Azman Shari’at, who has been appointed principal assistant director of management at Bukit Aman.
