MACC has recommended 20 improvements to DBKL to address governance issues in five key areas, including project management and rental collection.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has proposed 20 improvement measures to Kuala Lumpur City Hall to strengthen governance and close loopholes.
The MACC identified five key governance issues at DBKL requiring attention.
These include the management of a radio studio broadcast content production project and the administration of the 2023 Malaysian Statutory Bodies Sports Association Championship.

Other highlighted areas were the management and allocation of Ramadan and Aidilfitri bazaar sites.
The commission also flagged issues with the collection of rental payments for People’s Housing Projects and Public Housing units.
Furthermore, MACC recommended improvements to the management and monitoring of contracts for business licence management services.
The recommendations were presented by the MACC’s Governance Investigation Division following its observations and investigations.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud welcomed the proposed improvements from the anti-graft body.
He described the measures as crucial for strengthening DBKL’s service delivery system.
The mayor stated the proposals would improve the city hall’s overall efficiency and integrity. – Bernama
