Malaysia keeps fuel prices unchanged for first week of 2026

RON97, RON95, and diesel fuel prices in Malaysia remain steady from Jan 1 to 7, 2026, with subsidised RON95 fixed at RM1.99 per litre.

KUALA LUMPUR: Retail fuel prices in Malaysia will remain unchanged for the first week of 2026.

The Ministry of Finance confirmed the price of unsubsidised RON97 petrol will stay at RM3.16 per litre from January 1 to 7.

Unsubsidised RON95 petrol will also be maintained at RM2.56 per litre for the same period.

The subsidised price for RON95 under the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) scheme remains fixed at RM1.99 per litre.

Diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia will continue at RM2.94 per litre.

The retail price for diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan is unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.

The ministry stated the prices were determined using the weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

“The government, through MOF, will continue to monitor global oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people are safeguarded,” it said. – Bernama
