The Education Ministry’s community outreach programme provides digital equipment and aid to bridge the education gap for students in need.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Education is advancing its national digitalisation agenda through a strategic community outreach programme.

The ‘Jaulah Ramadan Komuniti KPM’ initiative aims to ensure students have access to the latest learning technologies.

This effort is reflected in contributions of digital equipment and targeted welfare assistance.

The aid is designed to bridge the education gap, particularly for asnaf and tahfiz students.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek presented the contributions during a breaking of fast event.

The programme was attended by about 400 students from Sekolah Menengah Integrasi Sains Tahfiz MAIWP.

Yayasan Didik Negara serves as a one-stop centre to coordinate contributions from corporate and private agencies.

“The aim of this coordination is to ensure there is no duplication in the provision of contributions to schools nationwide,” said YDN CEO Mohd Nasrul Khairi.

He stated this ensures a more efficient and comprehensive aid distribution.

Apart from digitalisation, YDN also provided financial aid to 50 asnaf students from the school.

Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn donated a smartboard to support digital learning.

Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka contributed books of various genres to cultivate reading habits.

The MOE also distributed pamphlets on the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2026-2035 to residents.

This was done to raise awareness of the strategic planning for the national education system.

The acting principal of the school expressed gratitude for the selection and the contributions.

Roshidah Ismail described the contributions as a catalyst for students’ excellence.

“The provision of this smartboard is highly appropriate to strengthening digitalisation in schools,” she said.

She added it ensures student development keeps pace with the times.

“Our School Average Grade performance in the SPM examination has shown improvement for four straight years.”

“Although we are a tahfiz school, mastery of digital technology remains a priority,” Roshidah stated.
