Four Malaysian students clinched two gold medals at the Bangkok Innovation Awards, showcasing the nation’s young talent on an international stage
KUALA LUMPUR: Four Malaysian students have excelled at the Bangkok Innovation Awards, securing two gold medals and a second-place finish in the primary school Engineering category.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan expressed immense pride in the achievement. He described it as a symbol of the younger generation’s ability to uphold national dignity through innovation and academic excellence.
“This achievement is not only something to be proud of, but also proves that our young generation possesses creative and high-impact ideas that are capable of being recognised at the international level,” he said in a statement.
The winning students are Ilaneyan Yuvarajan and M. Theerchanna from SJKT KO Sarangapany, along with Ilanarun Yuvarajan and M. Elamaaran from SMK Sultan Badlishah.
Ramanan, who is also the MP for Sungai Buloh, extended his appreciation to the students’ parents for their sacrifices. He noted their willingness to travel to Bangkok to provide moral support was crucial.
He emphasised that family encouragement forms the backbone of such student success. This collective support proves achievement is not solely an individual effort.
The PKR vice-president also thanked the teachers who guided the students to international success. He shared a touching moment where the students requested his autograph as a keepsake.
“Although unexpected, I accepted it as a great honour. I also took the opportunity to leave them with words of encouragement so that they will continue to go far in their bright future,” Ramanan said.
He expressed hope this accomplishment would inspire more Malaysian youths to innovate and succeed globally. Such efforts would further strengthen Malaysia’s position as a competitive nation.
