3 victims stable after ammonia gas leak at Seremban toll

Three people are stable after an ammonia gas leak at the Seremban Toll Plaza, with air quality confirmed safe and the incident contained within 25 minutes.

SEREMBAN: Three individuals are in stable condition following an ammonia gas leak at the Seremban Toll Plaza yesterday afternoon.

The leak occurred from one of 15 cylinders being transported by a lorry at 2.40 pm.

State Health director Dr Zuraida Mohamed said two victims treated at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital were discharged yesterday.

The third victim received treatment elsewhere.

“The two victims affected by the ammonia gas leak are stable and have been allowed to return home,” she said.

Negeri Sembilan Department of Environment director Abdul Aziz Parmin confirmed air quality in the area is safe with normal readings.

The victims included a PLUS security guard, a toll booth staff member and the lorry driver.

The situation was fully contained by the Fire and Rescue Department by 3.05 pm.
