The Bukit Merah Dam’s water level has fallen to Critical Irrigation Level 1, prompting urgent calls for farmers to conserve water.
BUKIT MERAH DAM: The water level at Bukit Merah Dam has dropped to Critical Irrigation Level 1. It currently measures 6.965 metres, well below the 7.62-metre alert level.
The dam’s irrigation storage now stands at 18.6958 million cubic metres. The normal irrigation supply level under standard procedures is 8.69 metres.
The Kerian District Drainage and Irrigation Department issued the update on Facebook. It urged farmers to use water wisely and practise conservation at all times.
