An express bus skidded and overturned in Skudai, Johor, injuring 10 people with two initially trapped, rescued by firefighters using special tools
JOHOR BAHRU: An express bus skidded and overturned on the roadside in an accident at Kampung Sepakat Baru, Batu 11, Skudai.
The Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.20 pm yesterday.
A team from the Skudai Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched and arrived at the scene at 8.29 pm.
The accident involved a Causeway Link Express bus that had overturned.
A total of 10 victims were involved in the incident, with two passengers trapped inside.
Firefighters extricated the two trapped passengers using special tools.
A third victim who was trapped was rescued earlier by members of the public.
The bus driver and two other passengers sustained injuries.
Four other passengers suffered only minor injuries.
All victims received initial treatment from Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), Ministry of Health ambulance, and St John Ambulance personnel.
They were subsequently taken to the hospital for further care.
