KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines has extended the temporary suspension of its services to Doha until March 20, 2026.
The airline cited continued developments in the regional security environment for the decision.
The Doha service was initially suspended from February 28, 2026, due to airspace closures affecting the region.
These closures stem from the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.
Parent company Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) stated the airline continues to monitor the situation closely.
This monitoring involves ongoing risk assessments and relevant Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) before operations can resume.
To support onward journeys, the airline is increasing widebody capacity between Asia and Europe.
Flights will operate on carefully planned alternative routes that avoid the affected regions.
The national carrier confirmed all its other services continue to operate as scheduled.
This includes flights to Jeddah, Madinah, London, and Paris.
MAG reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority.
