Motorcyclist killed in collision with van in Kuala Selangor

A 40-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a van on Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan, with police citing errors from both parties

KUALA SELANGOR: A 40-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a van on Jalan Klang–Teluk Intan yesterday morning.

The accident occurred near a hotel at around 6.50 am when the victim, travelling from Tanjong Karang towards Kuala Selangor, collided with a van that was turning into a junction.

Kuala Selangor district police chief Supt Azaharudin Tajudin said the rider sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Initial investigations found the accident is believed to have been caused by errors from both parties, and appropriate action will be taken according to the law,” he said in a statement.

Azaharudin added that the route will be monitored more frequently to reduce accident risks.

He also advised all road users to obey traffic rules, stay focused while driving or riding, and use safety equipment like helmets and functional motorcycle lights.
