Teen drowns at Bagan Lalang beach in Sepang

A 17-year-old boy was found drowned at Pantai Bagan Lalang in Sepang after going missing while swimming with friends.

PUTRAJAYA: A teenage boy was found drowned at Pantai Bagan Lalang in Tanjong Sepat, Sepang after he was believed to have gone missing while swimming with his friends this afternoon.

Selangor senior fire officer II Mohamad Issmanto Md Pono said the body of Mohd Akhil Zamani Sanusi, 17, was found about 300 metres (m) from the shore, which is 10 m from the location where he was reported missing.

The victim is believed to have drowned while swimming at the beach with his friends at around 3.10 pm.

“The victim was found at 6.50 pm by the Water Rescue Team unit using the diving method (Unsurface),” he said in a statement today.

Mohamad Issmanto said that Ministry of Health officers confirmed the victim’s death before the body was handed over to the police for further action.
