Two girls killed, friend injured in Seremban motorcycle crash

Two girls, 10 and 13, died in a Seremban motorcycle crash; a third friend was seriously injured. A separate UiTM Machang accident also claimed a student’s life

SEREMBAN: Two young girls were killed and another seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding skidded off the road in Batu Kikir this afternoon.

Jempol police chief Supt Norhisham Mustapar said the 13-year-old rider and the 10-year-old middle pillion rider died at the scene from severe head and hand injuries.

The rear pillion rider, aged 13, is being treated for serious head injuries and broken legs at Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah.

“The incident is believed to have happened when the three female students were riding a Honda C100 motorcycle from Taman Mawar to Taman Musytari,” he said in a statement.

He added that the rider lost control, causing the motorcycle to skid onto the right shoulder and collide with a tree.

The bodies of the two girls were sent to Jempol Hospital for a post-mortem.

In a separate incident in Machang, a 19-year-old Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) student was killed after being hit by a motorcycle on campus this evening.

Machang police chief Supt Ahmad Shafiki Hussin said preliminary investigations found the crash happened at 6.20 pm.

He stated that a motorcycle travelling from the main gate back to the hostel hit the student when she suddenly crossed the road.

This caused the motorcyclist to swerve left before the collision occurred.

Both cases are being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
