Pakatan Harapan will focus on the state government’s track record rather than attacking opponents for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan election.

SUNGAI PETANI: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will adopt a performance-based campaign strategy for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, focusing on the state government’s achievements rather than attacking its political opponents.

Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) vice-chief Dr Mohamed Taufiq Johari said PH’s campaign would highlight the track record of the Negeri Sembilan administration under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and the state executive council in driving the state’s development and economic growth.

Dr Mohamed Taufiq, who is also the Minister of Youth and Sports, said the approach reflects PH’s commitment to presenting its record in government and allowing voters to make their own assessment.

“We do not wish to interfere with what other parties choose to do. Our focus is on showcasing the performance of the Negeri Sembilan government, which has successfully delivered progress for the state and its people.

“Our approach in this election is not to find fault with or attack other parties, but to highlight the achievements of the Pakatan Harapan-led Negeri Sembilan government,” he told reporters after officiating the MADANI KITA  here today.

The Election Commission has set tomorrow as nomination day for the Negeri Sembilan state election, with early voting on July 28 and polling on Aug 1.

The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5 after receiving the consent of the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

According to the Election Commission’s electoral roll updated as of June 4, 2026, a total of 889,490 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the state election, comprising 867,151 ordinary voters, 16,884 members of the armed forces and their spouses, and 5,455 police personnel classified as early voters.

Meanwhile, regarding the event, Dr Mohamed Taufiq stated that the “MADANI Kita” programme—themed “Active with the Community”—serves as a platform for the government to engage with the public by delivering various services, aid, and initiatives directly to local communities, while also facilitating public access to government services.

“The government’s goal is to ensure that every initiative reaches the people directly. It is the Prime Minister’s aspiration for leaders and ministers to go to the ground, meet the people and listen to their concerns and needs firsthand.

“We want government policies and initiatives to be more than plans on paper. They must genuinely reflect the aspirations and voices of the people,” he said.
