Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar is named the new opposition leader in the Dewan Rakyat, replacing Hamzah Zainudin, says Perikatan Nasional.
KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has been appointed the new Opposition Leader in the Dewan Rakyat, replacing Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
In a statement, Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the appointment of the Kemaman Member of Parliament was decided at the PN Supreme Council meeting held here today.
Takiyuddin also said the meeting, chaired by Ahmad Samsuri, agreed on the appointment of PN chairmen for each state, including Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as PN chairman for Selangor.
However, the appointment of the PN chairman for Negeri Sembilan has been postponed for the time being.
