Bersatu suspends vice-president Ronald Kiandee for misconduct

Bersatu suspends VP Ronald Kiandee for two election cycles over breaches of the party constitution.

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu has suspended its vice-president, Ronald Kiandee, following findings that he violated the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

A notice issued by the party’s disciplinary board confirmed that Kiandee, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Beluran, had breached Clause 9.1.4 of Bersatu’s constitution. The suspension spans two Bersatu election cycles and takes effect immediately.

Kiandee made the notice public by posting it on his Facebook page, accompanying it with pointed remarks about the state of the party. He argued that the suspension was symptomatic of a deeper shift within Bersatu — away from its founding purpose as a platform for collective struggle, and towards serving the personal political interests of select individuals.

He also raised a pointed question regarding the severity of the punishment, asking why he had only been suspended rather than expelled outright, given the gravity of the alleged breach.

Kiandee made clear that he had no intention of challenging the decision. “I will not appeal. Consider this appeal period over. Period,” he said.
