MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across several states and federal territories until 7pm today
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states, including the Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Labuan, until 7 pm today.
According to a statement from MetMalaysia, the bad weather is expected to hit Perak (Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim); Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai); and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.
The warning also covers Pahang (Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang), and Johor, involving the Mersing, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru districts.
In Sarawak, the affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Miri and Marudi), and Limbang.
Sabah is also expected to be affected, including the Interior region (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau, and Tambunan), the West Coast, Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan, and Beluran), and Kudat.
