Perak FC set to sizzle with Brazilian striker Clayton

IPOH: Fans can anticipate a thrilling showcase of samba flair with the arrival of Brazilian striker Clayton da Silveria da Silva, set to bolster Perak FC’s attacking prowess in the Super League this season.

Perak FC head coach Yusri Che Lah (pix) revealed that the 29-year-old forward, who arrived in Ipoh yesterday, will undergo a medical examination before joining training sessions with his new teammates.

“He will undergo a medical test today. We all hope this process will go smoothly and he will be able to participate in full training with the team.

“To understand why we’ve brought him in, each supporter can judge his capabilities once he hits the ground running with the squad,” he told Bernama here today.

Yusri had expressed his desire for the imported striker to quickly adapt, leading ‘The Boss Gaurus’ attacking line when they face Terengganu FC in their league opener at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium on May 11.

Clayton is a former Brazilian U-23 national team player and previously represented Hercilio Luz, a club in the Brazilian 4th division league, in 2023.

Yusri said the Brazilian’s entry also ended Perak FC’s search for new players to reinforce The Boss Gaurus.

“The existing squad is complete and we will focus on training and creating compatibility through the strategy I will be applying. I hope everything goes smoothly,” he said.

Commenting on the team’s preparations, he said Perak will hold two more friendly matches against KDA FC tomorrow and Penang FC scheduled for May 4.
