Siti Zaidah Mohktar secured Malaysia’s 100th gold medal in the F41 shot put at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand.
MALAYSIAN shot putter Siti Zaidah Mohktar overcame a last-minute administrative hurdle to deliver her country’s 100th gold medal at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games.
The 38-year-old realised she was not listed for the F41 women’s shot put event and alerted her coach just hours before the competition.
Her coach and contingent officials acted swiftly to submit her name officially two hours before the event began.
Siti Zaidah then won the gold medal with a throw of 5.18 metres.

Teammate Mazzdiana Nuratasya Abd Rahim secured the silver medal with a throw of 4.91 metres.
Malaysia added more medals in tenpin bowling, the only other sport contested on the day.
The country secured a one-two finish in the TPB9 men’s singles event.
Mohd Azrin Rahim won gold with 1,230 points while Marcos Hao took silver with 1,198 points.
In the TPB9 women’s singles, Ruzila Mustafa won silver with 795 points.
Teammate Julietati Abd Jalil secured the bronze medal with 775 points.
Tenpin bowling has now contributed three gold medals to Malaysia’s total haul at the Games.
Malaysia remains in third place overall with 109 total medals.
The tally consists of 33 gold, 34 silver, and 42 bronze medals with two days of competition remaining.
The national contingent continues to pursue its overall target of 181 medals, including 55 gold.
The ASEAN Para Games closing ceremony is scheduled for Monday, January 26. – Bernama
