Netflix has released the first look images from the highly anticipated second season of The Witcher which revealed the characters in their new costumes and getups.
The photographs reveal Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in new armour, Princess Ciri in a fierce new look played by Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, shackled following the Battle of Sodden Hill.
What happened in the last season?
The audience last saw Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer’s storylines converge around the Battle of Sodden Hill in the previous season.
Geralt was finally reunited with Ciri while Nilfgaard’s army was temporarily defeated by Yennefer. However, her fate was left hanging in the balance.
What to expect in Season 2?
In Season 2, Geralt of Rivia is convinced that Yennefer has lost her life at the Battle of Sodden Hill and brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.
While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the princess from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
