WHO would have guessed that the two most influential pop stars had a feud, given that one of them has stopped following the other? However, the events are most likely an accident that happens in everyday life.
Back in June, fans were quick to notice that Selena Gomez, 31, had apparently unfollowed Dua Lipa on Instagram. Clarifying the situation, the star of Only Murders in the Building explained to business magazine Fast Company in a recent interview published on Tuesday that her unintentional click of the unfollow button on the account of the singer of Don’t Start Now was purely accidental.
“I was just cleaning up some of my Instagram. Then somebody called me and was like, ‘What happened with Dua?!’ ” the singer and actress continued, dampening any speculation of a feud. According to the publication, the next day, Gomez publicly showed her support for Lipa by wearing a wrap dress by the fashion house Versace, which had recently collaborated with Lipa on a collection.
Gomez donned this dress at an event for her brand, Rare Beauty. “A little Versace/Dua moment?” the Calm Down singer captioned a picture of herself wearing the dress on Instagram.
The beauty co-founder, who currently has 430 million followers on Instagram, has taken a number of breaks from social media over the course of the years, with the most recent one occurring in February of this year. “I’m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly,” she said in a TikTok Live. “I’m 30 and am too old for this.”
The action followed Gomez’s response to a fan-created TikTok video claiming that Hailey Bieber’s January TikTok post was a subtle jab at her. In the TikTok video, the model lip-synced to a popular song with two friends, one of whom was Kendall Jenner.
