AUSTRALIA: A Malaysian-born former nurse was sentenced to prison by an Australian court for paying a man A$3,000 (roughly RM9,000) to have the tongue and penis of her ex-boyfriend amputated.

Following their messy split, Karen Kaur Warburton, 50, attempted to ensure Queensland police inspector Don McKay would “never walk or talk again.”

On Tuesday, the Cairns district court in North Queensland sentenced her to five years in jail, with the first 16 months suspended.

Warburton entered a guilty plea to one count of “attempting to procure grievous bodily harm” and one count of “attempting to procure a malicious act with intent,“ according to The Daily Mail.

Her actions could only be described as cold and calculated, according to Judge Joshua Treviño.

After beginning dating in March 2020, Warburton and McKay had an “acrimonious” breakup in the first part of 2021.

She gave local resident Andrew Bown approximately A$3,000 between April 1 and Oct 6, 2021, in order to seriously hurt her ex-boyfriend.

Additionally, for assistance with the task, she gave Bown pictures of McKay and his address.

Furthermore, the court was informed that Bown had made multiple attempts to cause harm to McKay.

In a different incident, a man that Bown had hired sprayed McKay’s house with lighter fluid and set it on fire, causing A$20,000 worth of damage.

To conclude, Bown had made another attempt to enlist, but the proposal was promptly turned down.
