NBA suspends Kings’ Dennis Schroder for three games

Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder suspended three games by the NBA for an off-court altercation with an opposing player.

LOS ANGELES: Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder has been suspended for three games by the NBA for an off-court altercation.

The league stated the suspension was for “confronting and attempting to strike another player” following a game last month.

The incident occurred approximately 40 minutes after the Kings’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on December 28.

According to the NBA, “Schroder sought out the player in an arena hallway and initiated the confrontation.”

While the league did not name the other player, multiple US media outlets identified him as Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

The two players had exchanged heated words during the game earlier that evening.

Schroder will begin serving his suspension on Sunday when the Kings host the Houston Rockets.

He will also miss a rematch against the Lakers and a game versus the New York Knicks.

The 32-year-old German guard is averaging 13.0 points, 5.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds this season.
