Penampang crocodile farm confirmed legal after viral video

Police confirm a Penampang crocodile farm is fully licensed after a viral video of its crocodile habitat caused public concern and speculation.

PENAMPANG: Police have confirmed a local crocodile farming facility is operating legally following a viral social media video.

The one-minute clip showing a crocodile habitat had raised public concern, prompting a police inspection.

Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the video was believed to have been recorded near the farm in question.

Investigations confirmed the farm holds valid farming and crocodile meat trading licences from the Sabah Wildlife Department.

“Our check of the facility has confirmed that the farm is operating legally and holds valid farming as well as trading licences for crocodile meat issued by the Sabah Wildlife Department,” he said.

Sammy advised the public against speculation and to share information responsibly.
