Tottenham’s Richarlison sidelined for 7 weeks with hamstring injury

Tottenham forward Richarlison faces up to seven weeks out with a hamstring injury, a major blow to Spurs’ attack ahead of their London derby against West Ham.

LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison will be sidelined for up to seven weeks with a hamstring injury.

Manager Thomas Frank confirmed the significant setback, which depletes Spurs’ attacking options ahead of Saturday’s Premier League London derby at home to West Ham United.

The Brazilian has been a key contributor this season with seven goals and three assists in the league.

“Richy unfortunately got a hamstring injury which will keep him out for up to seven weeks,” Frank told reporters.

The injury comes as Tottenham seek to recover from their recent FA Cup third-round exit to Aston Villa.

Frank stressed the need for his team to focus on their own performance rather than the derby occasion.

“I know it’s a big London derby, of course, against West Ham, with the rivalry and everything, but it’s all about us,” he said.

In more positive news, Mali midfielder Yves Bissouma is set to return after international duty.

Frank also suggested that Lucas Bergvall might be available, while Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke are nearing full fitness.

Captain Cristian Romero will return after serving a one-match suspension.

Spurs sit 14th in the standings with 27 points from 21 games.

West Ham are in the relegation zone with 14 points, seven points from safety.

Frank also praised Tottenham’s recent signing of midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

He called the 25-year-old former Chelsea player a “top signing” who brings Premier League experience and leadership.
