An autistic student thanks PM Anwar for free education for PWDs, calling it a gift of hope for children with special needs and their families.

KUALA LUMPUR: An autistic student has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the government’s free education initiative for persons with disabilities.

Rajendrra Vharma, a student from the Integrated Special Education Programme in Sentul Utama, described the announcement as a gift of hope and reassurance for children with special needs.

In a message shared through a short video, he said the initiative reflected the Prime Minister’s care and compassion.

“I want to sincerely thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his kindness and care towards children with disabilities,” Rajendrra said.

“Your announcement of free education is more than a policy; it is a gift of hope.”

He added that it shows every child, regardless of challenges, has a place in Malaysia’s journey forward.

Rajendrra, also an autistic artist recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records, conveyed encouragement to fellow students with disabilities.

He urged them not to give up and to continue believing in themselves.

“To my friends, never give up. Keep learning, keep believing in yourself,” he said.

Rajendrra also expressed appreciation to parents and teachers for their unwavering support and dedication.

The Prime Minister’s announcement has been widely welcomed by parents, educators and advocacy groups.

They view it as a significant step towards promoting inclusive and equitable education in Malaysia.

Anwar said all students with disabilities studying at public higher education institutions would be granted free education immediately.

The initiative covers those at polytechnics and community colleges, totalling about 3,000 individuals.
