No Malaysians affected by Mexico unrest, says Wisma Putra

Wisma Putra confirms no Malaysians harmed in Mexico violence, advises vigilance and registration via E-Konsular for those in affected states.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Ministry confirmed that no Malaysian nationals have been affected by the recent unrest in several Mexican states.

The ministry, known as Wisma Putra, is closely monitoring the violence through the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico City.

It said the situation is being watched in states including Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, Nayarit, Guanajuato, and Tamaulipas.

“The ministry wishes to confirm that, as of the latest reports, no Malaysian nationals have been affected by the unrest,” Wisma Putra said in an advisory.

Malaysians in Mexico are advised to remain vigilant and avoid public gatherings.

They are also urged to strictly follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.

The ministry strongly encouraged Malaysians to register via the E-Konsular portal.

This registration at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my facilitates timely communication and assistance.

For consular help, Malaysians may contact the embassy at +52 55 5282 4656 or +52 55 5282 5166.

They can also email [email protected] or [email protected].

Wisma Putra said it will continue to monitor developments closely.

It pledged to provide further updates as necessary.
