Woman shares toxic workplace struggles, resilience, and ultimate career breakthrough—proving perseverance and integrity lead to success
A woman has touched the hearts after opening up about her gruelling experience in a toxic work environment and her ultimate journey toward professional vindication.
In a heartfelt post on the social media platform Threads, the user shared the hard-earned wisdom she gained while navigating professional adversity.
She emphasised the necessity of resilience, or what she described as having a “muka tebal”.
“When you are working, you need to have a thick skin, as that is how you learn and grow,” she said.
The woman revealed that her success was preceded by years of hardship, including being the target of workplace politics.
“Trust me, I have been on the other side of the fence. I went through miscommunication and was treated badly,” she said.
Despite suffering from being boycotted and defamed to the point where she would cry uncontrollably upon returning home, she refused to let her performance slip.
“I was suffering the whole time, but I still carried out my duties and gave 200 per cent,” she recalled.
The situation became so dire that her husband eventually pleaded with her to resign out of concern for her wellbeing.
She stated that while she had to wait years for “kifarah” (divine retribution) to take its course, she remained steadfast in her faith that her blessings would eventually be doubled.
The turning point came when she finally decided to move on. Paradoxically, the same bosses who had overseen her difficult tenure asked her to stay when she tendered her resignation. However, she chose a fresh start, and the results were immediate.
“I joined a new workplace where my probation was supposed to be six months, but I was offered a permanent position after just one month,” she said.
Within a few months, despite her initial role as a deputy, she was given the autonomy to hire and lead her own team.
Reflecting on her transition, she attributed her new-found success to a higher arrangement.
“Can you see how God arranges our journey in life? It does not happen in the blink of an eye,” she wrote.
She added that she continues to pray for guidance and awareness, ensuring she stays on the right path.
She shared her story to serve as a beacon of hope for those who may be silently struggling in similar situations, proving that endurance and integrity can lead to a far brighter chapter.
