The MoU was signed by Datuk Dr. Colin Lee, the Managing Director of KL Wellness City, and Tan Chor Sen, Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Malaysia, symbolising a shared commitment to fostering innovation and cross-sector collaboration that benefits the medical and healthcare ecosystem.

This partnership establishes a structured framework for both parties to jointly promote healthcare, wellness, lifestyle, protection and financial services initiatives through coordinated marketing activities and joint events. By leveraging their respective expertise, networks, and branding strengths, KLWC and OCBC Malaysia aim to enhance market visibility, strengthen brand awareness, and create mutual value for stakeholders.

KL Wellness City is Southeast Asia’s first purpose-built integrated wellness township spanning 26.5 acres in Bukit Jalil, designed to bring together healthcare, wellness, lifestyle, and medical-related components within a single ecosystem.

The development is anchored by KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd (KLIH), a flagship tertiary private hospital with a planned capacity of approximately 1,000 beds, 25 operating theatres, rooftop helipad and advanced smart hospital features.

Adjoining the hospital is The Nobel Healthcare Park, which comprises Medical Suites, Wellness Suites, Commercial Suites, Business Suites, and Retail Suites components designed to support healthcare professionals, specialists, and wellness-related businesses.

A key focus of the collaboration is the introduction of OCBC’s Medipreneur Programme, a specially curated comprehensive financing and insurance protection solution designed for healthcare professionals, with dedicated benefits extended to our Medical Suites purchasers of The Nobel Healthcare Park within KL Wellness City.

OCBC’s Medipreneur Programme integrates three key components provided by the OCBC Group:

  • Financial solutions by OCBC Malaysia: OCBC Malaysia offers tailored financing and banking solutions to help healthcare professionals manage cash flow and grow their practices. This includes unsecured business financing of up to RM600,000* with flexible tenures of up to seven (7) years, as well as commercial property financing of up to 150%* for companies and 85%* for individuals. Eligible women entrepreneurs can also benefit from OCBC Women Unlimited, while our SME Energy Efficiency Assessment tool supports a soft entry into green financing by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Equipment, renovation and working capital financing solutions by Pac Lease: Pac Lease offers tailored financing solutions for medical practitioners, including medical equipment financing of up to 100% of equipment cost with repayment tenures of up to five (5) years, as well as working capital financing of up to RM300,000 (or up to RM100,000 for businesses with annual turnover below RM1 million) with tenures of up to three (3) years. These facilities require no collateral and offer fast approval within 48 hours, helping healthcare providers acquire essential equipment and support their business growth with ease.
  • Protection Solutions by Great Eastern: Great Eastern provides comprehensive insurance coverage solutions for business operations and medical practitioner malpractice protection, including a 10% discount on malpractice insurance premiums.

In addition, Healthcare professionals will also benefit from an exclusive incorporation package from Boss Boleh for business set-up, including complimentary one-to-one consultation sessions and promotional support packages.

Leveraging the strengths of OCBC Group, OCBC’s Medipreneur Programme aims to support doctors and healthcare professionals in establishing, growing and sustaining well-structured medical practices by providing access to financial solutions, operational support, equipment financing, and protection coverage within a holistic ecosystem.

Under the MoU, both parties will also collaborate on joint engagement initiatives, including curated events, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking platforms for medical professionals, particularly within the KL Wellness City ecosystem. OCBC Malaysia will also participate in selected events through its support team stationed at the KL Wellness City Gallery, providing product briefings and financial advisory sharing sessions.

“This partnership enhances our ability to support healthcare professionals not only in establishing their practices, but also in sustaining and growing them within a comprehensive ecosystem,” he said.

OCBC Malaysia CEO Tan Chor Sen added: “At OCBC, we see clearly how the role of doctors is evolving. Many are also business owners who make long-term investment decisions, manage costs, and plan for growth, while continuing to care for their patients. Leveraging our One Group approach, we bring together the combined strengths of OCBC Malaysia, Pac Lease and Great Eastern under our OCBC Medipreneur programme to deliver integrated financial solutions, from working capital and assets financing to comprehensive insurance, to empower doctors to establish, manage and grow their practices with confidence.”
