RM1.12 million allocated for Kampung Padang Asam development, with RM820,000 for infrastructure and RM300,000 for community programmes
PADANG RENGAS: A total of RM1.12 million has been allocated for Kampung Padang Asam’s development under the MADANI Village Adoption Programme.
Royal Malaysian Customs Department Director-General Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin announced the funding aimed at improving basic facilities and residents’ well-being.
She revealed that RM820,000 was used to implement 10 basic infrastructure projects, while RM300,000 was allocated for various community programmes.
“All of the basic infrastructure projects have been completed,” she said during the programme’s closing ceremony at Masjid Al-Khairiyah.
The upgraded areas included Kampung Padang Asam, Masjid Al-Khairiyah, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Asam, and Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Kampung Padang Asam.
Completed projects encompassed road maintenance, solar-powered streetlight installation, well water storage tank construction, bathroom facilities, and parking lot upgrades.
Anis Rizana credited the successful implementation to close cooperation with the Kuala Kangsar Land and District Office, State Education Department and GiatMARA.
“The approach adopted involves cross-agency collaboration, known as the ‘whole-of-government’ approach,” she explained.
She expressed hope that all completed projects would be fully utilised and bring tangible benefits to village residents.
Also present at the ceremony were JKDM Deputy Director-General Abu Bakar Jambol and Perak Customs director Mohd Nadzri Ariffin. – Bernama
