M’sian busted for driving Lamborghini without plate & insurance

34-year-old man caught driving unregistered Lambo to sell it. JPJ seizes car in Ops Luxury operation.

A 34-year-old Malaysian man’s plan to sell his Lamborghini hit a major roadblock after traffic authorities intercepted him for multiple violations.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) seized the luxury vehicle during ‘Ops Luxury’ yesterday morning (Dec 28) at approximately 10.05am near the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) exit.

Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan revealed to Kosmo that officers stopped the driver who was heading to Setia Alam to complete the sale of his Lamborghini.

Upon inspection, enforcement officers discovered serious violations:

  • The vehicle had no front license plate
  • Both insurance and road tax (LKM) had lapsed 15 months earlier

The driver told officers he hadn’t bothered renewing the documentation since he planned to sell the car anyway.

Further checks uncovered the man’s problematic driving record, including previous violations for speeding, driving without a valid licence, and using an expired probationary driving licence.

JPJ officers confiscated the Lamborghini and transported it to the Ijok Enforcement Station for further action under the Road Transport Act 1987.

Speaking to the Malay daily, Azrin emphasised that Selangor JPJ will maintain strict enforcement operations based on public complaints to ensure all vehicles comply with traffic regulations.

“This is to ensure that every vehicle on the road always complies with the rules and laws that have been set,” he stated.
