Pilot of missing AirAsia flight had logged 20,537 flying hours

KUALA LUMPUR: The pilot of the missing AirAsia Indonesia flight had logged a total of 20,537 flying hours, according to AirAsia.
Of the total number of hours, the captain had 6,100 flying hours with AirAsia Indonesia on the Airbus A320, it said in a statement today.
"The first officer had a total of 2,275 flying hours with AirAsia Indonesia," it added.
AirAsia Indonesia Flight QZ8501 went missing on Sunday morning while flying 162 passengers and crew from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore.
AirAsia said it had established an Emergency Call Centre which can be reached at +622129270811 or 031-8690855 or 031-2986790 (Surabaya) by people seeking information about relatives or friends who may have been on board the flight.
At this time, it said, the search and rescue operation was being conducted under the guidance of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) and AirAsia Indonesia was cooperating fully as well as assisting the investigation in every possible way. – Bernama
