MAKKAH: Malaysian pilgrims in Makkah have expressed their love and devotion to the country, in conjunction with the National Day 2015 celebration today by flying the national flag, Jalur Gemilang at their respective residential colleges.
Hajat prayers and 'doa selamat' ceremonies were also held for the welfare and security of the country.
Tabung Haji (TH) senior general manager Datuk Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman said TH had distributed flags to the pilgrims here, in addition to installing them at its operation offices.
He told reporters after visiting Maktab 91, at Rehab Janadriyah building here yesterday it was certainly very appropriate for them to take this opportunity to pray that the country remains peaceful and progressive.
A resident at Maktab 91, Nor Hayat Udin Othman, 48, who was visiting the Holy Land for the first time, said it was very meaningful for pilgrims to be able to pray for the wellbeing of the country.
"Being in the Holy Land now is the best opportunity (for us) to pray to God to continue protecting our country, for it to remain secure, and able to face the challenges ahead," he said. – Bernama
