3 family members die in mukah motorcycle-mpv accident

MUKAH: Three members of a family perished when a multi-purpose vehicle rammed into the motorcycle they were riding at Jambatan Kuning Km5, Jalan Mukah-Balingian last night.
District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau when confirming the incident which happened around 9.30pm identified the deceased as Mohamad Adika Sudin, 27, his wife Jaifa Mohamad, 27, and their son, Mohamad Aniq Yuzri Mohamad Adika, 7.
He said the couple's daughter Nurlyana Safina Mohamad Adika, 6, who was also on the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries and being treated at Sibu Hospital.
"The MPV heading to Mukah from Balingian was believed to have skidded and veered into the opposite lane hitting the motorcycle, throwing the victims off the machine.
"The couple died at the scene while their son, at Mukah Hospital," he told Bernama when contacted today.
He said the driver of the MPV, a man aged 37, escaped with minor injuries. — Bernama
