Factory razed by fire in Kubu Baru

KUALA LUMPUR: A factory manufacturing plastic items was razed in a fire at the Rasa Industrial Area in Kuala Kubu Baru, near here this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said the department received a call on the incident at 4.40pm.
"When the firemen arrived at the scene, the fire was raging with almost the entire factory destroyed. No fatal casualties or injuries were reported," he said here today.
He said five fire engines with 33 personnel and officers from the Batu Arang, Rawang, Bestari Jaya, Selayang and Tanjung Malim fire and rescue stations were rushed to the scene.
Until 7.30pm, firemen were still trying to extinguish the fire and thick smoke could be seen from a distance of 1km, he said.
The cause of the fire and amount of losses incurred are still being investigated. — Bernama
