Ferry company offers refunds to affected customers
ALOR STAR: Passengers who paid an extra RM3 from Langkawi to Kuala Kedah /Kuala Perlis and vice versa on New Year's day can get a refund of their money from the ferry service operator.
A spokesperson from Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd told theSun that the refund can be claimed at any of the ticket counters in Langkawi, Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis.
"They can claim the refund of RM3 from our counters by providing their receipt to us, and they will get their refund," he said.
Holidaymakers got the shock of their life on New Year's day when they purchased tickets to Langkawi for an extra RM3 from Kuala Kedah.
Passengers who purchased tickets at the counter from Kuala Kedah had to fork out RM26 for adults and RM20 for children, while the fare from Kuala Perlis to Langkawi is RM21 and RM16 respectively.
He said the price was not an increase but was actually a management charge for passengers who didn't bring their e-tickets to the counters.
He said further discussions will be held soon to discuss the ticket price.
While in Penang, ticket prices remain the same at RM120 for adult economy, RM90 for child economy and RM50 for children below two years (two way) excluding the port handling charge of RM10.
