Mother of Sultan of Johor dies (Updated)

JOHOR BARU: The Sultan of Johor's mother, Enche' Besar Hajah Khalsom Abdullah, 83, died in London yesterday.
The Johor Royal Press Office (RPO) conveyed the news in a statement today.
"We inform with great sadness that Enche'Besar Hajah Khalsom Abdullah, the Sultan of Johor's mother has died in London. The Johor Council of the Royal Court will make the announcement on the funeral," it said.
The sultan's sister Tengku Puan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah also confirmed the news on Twitter today.
Johor Royal Court Council president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli said Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-mast from today until the end of the funeral ceremony.
The funeral ceremony will be held at the Bilik Singgahsana at Istana Besar for dignitaries and the public to pay their last respects.
The date of the funeral will be announced later.
