Police rescue abducted, raped victim

ALOR STAR: Police have rescued a 17-year-old girl who was abducted, raped and locked up by six men including a wanted criminal in a raid at a house in Kuala Sungai Yan, near Yan, early this morning.
Kedah Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Mior Farid Al Athrash Wahid said the raid was carried out by the Serious Crimes Branch (D9) team following information received last Monday.
The police then arrested the six suspects aged between 20 and 50 in the raid at the house of one of the suspects.
"The victim was rescued after being locked up in a store at the house for a week and based on an interview with the teenager, she was raped repeatedly by the main suspect.
"The main suspect in his 50s has 33 criminal records and a wanted person for robbery, wrongful confinement, drugs, possession of dangerous weapons and criminal intimidation cases," he said in a statement, here today.
The police also seized items believed to be stolen, including Proton Perdana and BMW cars, two superbikes, various types of helmets, mobile phones, televisions, monitors and loudspeakers, he said.
He said the remand order on the suspects would be obtained at Sungai Petani Magistrate's Court tomorrow and the case was being investigated under Section 342 and Section 376 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
