Slapping incident : PTVM apologises on behalf of David Teo
KUALA LUMPUR: The Television Producers Association of Malaysia (PTVM) today apologised on behalf of its member, David Teo, for allegedly being rude during the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue attended by the prime minister last night.
PTVM president Datuk Jurey Latiff Rosli said he was confident that Teo who is Metroweatlh (MIG) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer, who was slapped by an actor, had no intention to be rude or destructive during the event.
“This is a major loss in which good opportunities were wasted by the nasty incident. My hope as PTVM president is that the Prime Minister can forgive David and Mat Over and will continue to give assistance to the creative industry in the country,” he said in a statement.
In the incident, actor Mat Over, whose real name is Yasin Sulaiman, slapped Teo during TN50 dialogue for the entertainment industry between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and local artistes held at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya.
It started when Teo expressed dissatisfaction against the actor-producer and event moderator Datuk Rosyam Nor who was allegedly only giving attention to the audiences in the front row before Teo was slapped by Mat Over. — Bernama
