In the screenshot, authorities stated that an investigation would be carried out and that further updates would be provided once completed.
The incident has sparked debate online, with some horrified at the presence of the worm in the chicken while many netizens urging stricter hygiene enforcement at Ramadan bazaars.
One user commented: “Expose which stall and report.”
Another shared her personal stance: “Until the ninth day of Ramadan, I haven’t stepped into any bazaar or ordered online. It’s my yearly resolution. Most food isn’t clean, leftovers get reheated and resold, prices are high and portions are smaller. I prefer to cook myself, even if I’m tired after work.”
