A woman calls out inconsiderate KTM passengers after commuters blocked space by sleeping on the floor, preventing others from boarding.
AS passengers on public transport, it is common sense to leave enough space for others boarding, as a sign not only of good manners but also of consideration.
A frustrated Malaysian woman recently aired her grievances in a Threads post after encountering train commuters who left barely any room for others, as they were seen sleeping in any available space.
“It happened on a KTM train heading north during an early morning trip just after dawn.
“This group seemed to think only their own exhaustion mattered, while others could not even get in because there was not enough space,” she said in the post.
Images attached to the post showed travellers who were not seated sprawled on the floor of the train, asleep on top of their luggage.
The regular commuter then claimed to have said “out loud” that those on the ground should stand up to allow others to board the train.
The woman also claimed that this behaviour is common during her commute to work and tends to occur more frequently during the holiday season.
Although she managed to board the train, the experience left her dissatisfied by the lack of consideration shown by other passengers.
As the post gained traction, netizens chimed in with their criticism of the passengers.
“Good on you for saying something. People’s lack of common sense should be called out,” a user said.
“I have not been on a KTM train in a while. Back then, I never saw anyone sitting on the floor,” another commented.
